Ruby is creating the kind of change that is felt both on the one to one level and also all across the world. Ruby is a gift to us all.
— Pam Allyn, Executive Director for LitWorld Global Literacy Organization
Ruby is one ‘It Girl’ that will be hard to phase out, just as much as ideals and principles are not just trends that pass us by, but concepts we build our lives around.
— Ivy Kirzhner, Shoe Designer

Ruby Veridiano is a glamour girl off to change the world. A writer, fashion correspondent, public speaker, and on-camera talent, Ruby’s work focuses on empowering women & merging fashion with social change. Ruby is the founder of the "Glamourbaby Diaries”, a writing workshop series designed to empower young women to find their voice as changemakers through the lens of fashion. She is also a freelance correspondent for outlets like NBC News, where she covers fashion topics and the stories of women trailblazers.

Ruby’s global perspective as a voice for women and advocate for change has been shaped by her roots as a spoken word poet, arts educator, and Asian-American community advocate, as well as her international background. She was born in Manila, Philippines and raised in Sacramento, California. Despite her humble beginnings, she created opportunities that allowed her to live in Siena (Italy), Manila (Philippines), Paris (France), and within the United States in cities such as Atlanta (Georgia), Oakland (California), and New York City (NY). Globally minded and multilingual, she speaks English, Tagalog, and French.

Propelled by a personal mission to create positive social impact and moving others to do the same, Ruby co–founded iLL-Literacy in 2002, an artist collective that educated youth about social issues through spoken word poetry performance. As the sole female member, iLL-Literacy is where she first discovered her calling to use her voice to empower women. Through iLL-Literacy, she has shared the stage with the likes of Common, Mos Def, Goapele, and Saul Williams. Her movement to empower youth to find their voice extends to her work as an arts educator with non-profit organizations such as Youthspeaks, Urban Word, LitWorld, and Book-In-A-Day.

In 2008, she became a VJ for international music channel, MYX TV North America, and in the same year, Ruby published her first poetry book, Miss Universe. She has also worked as a correspondent an on-camera talent for Alicia Keys Worldwide and ABS-CBN Television.

Ruby has traveled throughout the United States, Europe, and Asia, presenting her writings, speeches, and workshops at over 400 venues including Cornell University, Columbia University, Stanford University, Morehouse College, De La Salle University Manila, and the United Nations.

In the past decade, Ruby has built a career in the arts, education, media, and non-profit industries, and in 2013, Ruby made a career move into the fashion/luxury industry. She received her Master’s Degree from the American University of Paris in 2015, where her studies focused on social responsibility communications for the fashion and luxury industry. She was a part of the Corporate Social Responsibility Team at the Louis Vuitton Moët Hennessy (LVMH) Paris Headquarters in 2015.

Ruby is currently based in Paris, FR.
